Born Nduka Patrick Chinedu, he began his music grind as far back as 2010 and has impressive results to show for it. Having sealed the year with New Single AMARACHUKWU, Mr Great lets us know of the music gourmet cooking in his kitchen, his beginnings, struggles, next moves, opinions on critical issues in the music business and more.
What’s the story behind your stage name, Mr Great?
Mr Great is cut out from what my friends calls me,
When I was in school, my friends usually called me ‘Great OGB’, so when I started music fully I felt like Rebranding it with vocal keys .
Do you play any musical instrument?
Yes, I play Drums because I was a Vocalist in the Church.
When did the music dream start?
I established My own Label this year, 2020 July and that’s when everything started professionally for me.
Let’s talk about your discography. Out of all songs you’ve done which will you say is your favorite and why?
Of them all I still prefer ‘Amarachukwu ’ but it doesn’t mean others are not good. The content is Great to me
Who are your musical mentors?
2Baba, his sound influences me every time I listen to him. Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and lots of other Artists.
How would rate your stay at Ojia Entertainment Empire Since The Establishment?
It’s been good for me to be honest. The feedback I’ve been getting so far from the songs I dropped has been motivating and it has been keeping me going. It’s a different thing to do your music and it’s a different thing to get the right response from people. If I were to rate myself, I would say 10/10.
Which of your peers do you have great respect for?
Fireboy, Zlatan Ibile, Rema, Omah lay and lots more as far as you are doing good music and the audience accepts your sound , I have a great Respect for you.
What are your goals for next year?
More Recognition , Local and international Achievements, award nominations and an award win.
