Alaafin, or 'Man of the Palace' in the Yoruba language, was the title of the king of the great Oyo Empire of Oyo state. It was retained through the fall of that state as the official title of the ceremonial ruler of the contemporary natives of Oyo, Nigeria.

The current Alaafin of Oyo is Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III. He ascended the throne in 1970 after he succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II.
