“MC Oluomo and My Colleagues Are Behind My Being Alive” - Ronke Oshodioke Recounts Health Battle

Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodioke has opened up about one of the toughest periods of her life, revealing the staggering financial cost of battling a health challenge and the unexpected support she received from colleagues and loved ones.

Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodioke has opened up about a difficult period in her life, revealing that she spent as much as N800,000 every month on medication while battling a health challenge. The actress, who reflected on her ordeal, credited God, MC Oluomo and several of her colleagues with helping her survive the challenging period.

According to Ronke, the financial burden of treating her condition was enormous, as she had to spend hundreds of thousands of naira on drugs every month.

“Thank God that He is God, and thanks to MC Oluomo and my colleagues who kept me alive today, do you know what it means for someone to buy drugs worth 800,000 naira every month?”

Ronke also shared an emotional story about fellow actress Sotayo, revealing that she received unexpected financial support from her despite the fact that they had not spoken for several years. According to the actress, she and Sotayo had a disagreement that resulted in them losing contact for about five or six years. However, when Sotayo heard that Ronke was seriously ill, she reportedly sent her 150,000 Naira.

“Sotayo and I hadn’t spoken in a long time, not that we were at war, but we had a little disagreement. The last time Sotayo and I spoke was 5 or 6 years ago. But when she heard that I fell sick, she sent me N150,000 naira!”

Interestingly, Ronke revealed that the gesture did not immediately repair their relationship.

When asked whether Sotayo had called her since sending the money, Ronke explained that they still maintained their distance whenever they encountered each other.

“If we meet at a party, we bypass each other without greeting.”

Despite their unresolved differences, Ronke appeared deeply appreciative of the gesture, highlighting how support can sometimes come from unexpected places during difficult moments.

The actress also praised her colleagues for standing by her throughout her health battle. She acknowledged the role that financial assistance and support played in helping her cope with the cost of treatment, particularly at a time when her monthly medication expenses had risen to N800,000.

Ronke also revealed that she joined the Celestial Church of Christ (Cele) during the period when she was seriously ill. According to her, the decision was made while she was “terribly sick,” but she stressed that her religious choice should not be interpreted as an attack on other faiths.

“It was when I was terribly sick that I joined Cele. As for me, I don’t condemn other religions.

Ronke Oshodioke’s revelation has sparked conversations about friendship, forgiveness, faith and the importance of having people who stand by you during difficult moments. From MC Oluomo and her colleagues to an actress she had not spoken to in years, Ronke says the support she received played a significant role in helping her through one of the most challenging periods of her life.

Her story is also a reminder that relationships can be complicated, but kindness can sometimes find its way through even the longest periods of silence.
