“Nobody Communicates, Nobody Is Honest About Intentions. The Dating Pool in 2026 Needs Jesus” - Chef Uriel

Chef Uriel has had enough of the modern dating scene, taking to social media to lament the lack of communication and honesty among people navigating relationships in 2026.

BBNaija star and chef Uriel Oputa has taken a swipe at the modern dating scene, expressing frustration over what she described as poor communication and a lack of honesty about people’s intentions.

Chef Uriel shared the candid observation on her Instagram story, where she declared that the dating pool in 2026 desperately needs divine intervention.

“Nobody communicates, nobody is honest about intentions. The dating pool in 2026 needs Jesus.”

The chef’s comment captures one of the biggest complaints surrounding modern dating: uncertainty. According to Uriel, people are increasingly failing to communicate clearly about what they want from potential partners, leaving others to figure out their intentions along the way.

Whether someone is looking for a serious relationship, casual dating, or simply getting to know another person, the lack of straightforward communication can make the dating process unnecessarily complicated.

Uriel also called out what she sees as dishonesty around dating intentions. Her statement suggests that some people may enter relationships without being upfront about what they actually want, creating confusion and disappointment when their expectations eventually become clear.

And judging by her dramatic conclusion, she appears to have had enough. Rather than offering a long relationship sermon, Uriel summed up her frustration in one memorable line: the dating pool needs Jesus. Her comment has already resonated with social media users, many of whom can relate to the struggles of navigating relationships in an era of talking stages, mixed signals, ghosting and unclear intentions.

The statement also comes amid Uriel’s previous public conversations about relationships and marriage, including her views on the pressures surrounding marriage in Nigerian society.

For now, Chef Uriel appears to have delivered a simple verdict on modern romance: Dating in 2026 needs Jesus

Kunmie ‘22’ Album Review: Kunmie Turns Love, Pressure and Growing Pains Into His Most Personal Statement Yet

With 22, Kunmie attempts to fill in those gaps. The 13-track album is not built around the idea of proving that he can make another “Arike.” Instead, it spends much of its time exploring the person behind the success. There is love here, of course, but there is also uncertainty, ambition, loneliness, faith and the pressure that comes with trying to build a life while still figuring out who you are.
