"I Only Get Approached by Younger Men" – Venita Akpofure Says They're More Courageous Than Older Men

Nollywood actress and reality TV star Venita Akpofure has revealed that she continues to attract suitors at 39, with most of the men who approach her being younger and more courageous than their older counterparts.

"I Only Get Approached by Younger Men" – Venita Akpofure Says They're More Courageous Than Older Men

Speaking on a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Venita said her youthful appearance gives her an advantage in dating and makes her look much younger than her actual age. "I am 39, but if I told you I was 28, you would believe me," she said, explaining that her youthful look naturally draws in men who are younger than her.

The actress, who is divorced and has two children, admitted that she rarely gets approached by older men, whom she described as less daring and more cautious when it comes to making the first move.

"I only get approached by younger men. They are more courageous than the older ones," she stated.

Venita, who was previously in a romantic relationship with fellow reality star Adekunle, which ended shortly after the Big Brother Naija All Stars show, has been open about her dating experiences since her divorce.

She joked that younger men may not have the financial stability of older men, but they compensate with boldness and confidence.

"What they don't have in their bank accounts, they make up for with bravery and audacity," she said, painting a picture of a dating landscape where youth and courage often outweigh financial security in the pursuit of love.

The actress's comments have sparked a range of reactions, with some women agreeing that younger men are often more forthcoming and less intimidated by successful women.

Others, however, have argued that financial stability and maturity are more important in a relationship than courage alone.

The debate has also touched on the challenges faced by older women in the dating pool, where societal expectations often place pressure on women to settle down quickly, while men are given more time to explore their options.

Venita's openness about her dating preferences has earned her praise from fans who admire her confidence and honesty.

Her willingness to speak openly about her experiences has also made her a relatable figure for women navigating the complexities of dating after divorce, as she continues to challenge societal norms and expectations.

For now, she appears content with the attention she receives from younger men, and she is embracing the opportunities that come with being a confident, successful woman in her late thirties.

Kunmie ‘22’ Album Review: Kunmie Turns Love, Pressure and Growing Pains Into His Most Personal Statement Yet

With 22, Kunmie attempts to fill in those gaps. The 13-track album is not built around the idea of proving that he can make another “Arike.” Instead, it spends much of its time exploring the person behind the success. There is love here, of course, but there is also uncertainty, ambition, loneliness, faith and the pressure that comes with trying to build a life while still figuring out who you are.
