"I Was the Pioneer of Relationship Content, But I Was Often Unhappy Filming It With My Ex" – Carter Efe

Skitmaker Carter Efe has opened up about his decision to move away from relationship content, revealing that the fake happiness he portrayed online with his ex-girlfriend often left him feeling unhappy and mentally drained.

"I Was the Pioneer of Relationship Content, But I Was Often Unhappy Filming It With My Ex" – Carter Efe

Carter spoke on a recent episode of Cocktails & Takeaways, where Madame Joyce asked what happened to his relationship content.

The skitmaker explained that he realised he could not tie his identity and success to another person, and that the pressure to portray a perfect relationship online was taking a toll on his mental health. "I'm a smart boy.

God gave me brain. I know say this thing go take my life," he said, explaining that he knew the situation was unsustainable.

His candid admission has resonated with many who have experienced the pressure of maintaining a perfect image online.

Carter revealed that there was a time when he could not create content unless his ex-girlfriend was present, and that viewers expected them to appear together even when they were quarrelling.

"There was a time I could not do content if I don't see my woman. If I don't see my woman, I cannot shoot content," he said, describing how his creative process had become dependent on his relationship.

He also stressed the importance of not attaching his identity and success to someone else, saying, "You don't have to attach me to anyone. Like don't attach my glory also to someone else."

The skitmaker's comments have sparked a conversation about the pressures of relationship content and the impact it can have on mental health.

Many have praised him for his honesty, noting that the pressure to maintain a perfect image online can be overwhelming.

Others have shared their own experiences of feeling trapped by the expectations of social media, highlighting the importance of setting boundaries and prioritising mental health.

Carter's decision to move away from relationship content has allowed him to focus on his own creative journey, and he has since found success in other areas.

His willingness to speak openly about his struggles has inspired others to prioritise their mental health and to be honest about the realities of life behind the camera. His message is clear: true success comes from within, not from the validation of others.
