Bring Back Our Adelabu – Media Personality Kachi Laments as Power Outage Spoils Food

You know the situation is bad when Nigerians start begging for the return of a former minister they once criticized. Media personality Kachi has taken to social media to vent his frustration over the state of electricity in Nigeria, and his method of protest has got people talking. After yet another power outage that lasted long enough to spoil his food, Kachi declared a state of emergency on the power sector and made a demand that sounds almost desperate, bring back our Adelabu.

Yes, that Adelabu. The same former Minister of Power who many Nigerians dragged endlessly during his tenure. Now Kachi is saying he wants him back, which tells you just how frustrated people are with the current situation. When you start missing someone you once insulted, things have truly gone left.

Kachi didn't hold back in his rant. He talked about how hard it is to keep food fresh when light is unpredictable, how people are spending money on fuel for generators that they don't even have, and how the government doesn't seem to understand that power is not a luxury – it's a necessity. You can't run a business, you can't preserve food, you can't charge your phone, you can't do anything when there's no light. And yet, Nigerians are expected to just keep smiling and paying bills.

His post has struck a chord with many people who are living the same reality. The comments section is filled with Nigerians sharing their own stories of spoiled food, ruined appliances, and businesses that collapsed because they couldn't afford generator fuel anymore. Some are joking that Adelabu didn't do anything special, but at least the situation wasn't this bad. Others are saying Nigerians have short memories, the same Adelabu they're begging for now was once the villain.

But maybe that's the point. When things get worse, the devil you know starts looking like an angel. Kachi's frustration is shared by millions of Nigerians who just want one thing – light. Not constant light, just predictable light. Is that too much to ask after all these years.
