“Cut Off Every Song and Movie That Sows Evil Seeds” - Paul Okoye’s Wife, Ivy Ifeoma, Sparks Debate With Spiritual Warning

Ivy Ifeoma, wife of singer Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), has stirred conversations online after advising people to be more careful about the entertainment they consume.

Ivy Ifeoma is the latest celebrity to spark social media chatter following her post about the impact of music, films and entertainment on people’s lives. The mother of one took to her Instagram Story to remind her followers to be mindful of what they consume, as certain types of entertainment can slowly plant the seeds of harmful thoughts and behaviour in the mind.

“People shouldn’t continue to consume content just because they like the artist, actor or public figure behind it,” Ivy said.

Accordung to her, If a song, movie, or person inspires thoughts of lust, dishonesty, lies or any other form of negative behaviour, it’s best to steer clear of it.

“Pay attention to songs and movies that sow evil seeds in your spirit.”

She said many people naively think they are spiritually strong enough to not be affected by what they watch or listen to. But she believes that repeated exposure can eventually affect attitudes and behaviour.

The post quickly went viral online, with social media users debating the message. Some agreed with her point of view and said entertainment has a great impact on culture and personal values. They referred to research and to actual instances where the repeated exposure to specific ideas has influenced behaviour, particularly in young individuals. But others disagreed, saying people should be able to separate entertainment from real life. They stated that music and films are forms of artistic expression and that it is personal responsibility that ultimately determines how content will affect a person.

While Ivy did not mention any specific artist, movie, or genre, her comments have resonated with many Nigerians who believe people should be more conscious of what they allow into their minds.
