Davido, Wizkid & Tems To Light Up America As Afro Plus Fest Takes Over Maryland This Weekend

Nigeria’s biggest music stars are about to turn Maryland upside down as Davido, Wizkid, Tems and Ayra Starr lead a massive lineup for Afro Plus Fest 2026.

The Nigerian music scene is about to have another major moment in the United States as some of the biggest names in Afrobeats converge for the highly anticipated Afro Plus Fest 2026. The three-day festival kicks off today, September 4, and runs through September 6 at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland.  

The festival’s headline lineup is stacked, with Davido, Wizkid, Tems, Ayra Starr and Jamaican dancehall star Alkaline leading the charge. That means fans are getting multiple generations and sounds of African music on one massive stage.

And the supporting cast is just as crazy. Performers include Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Ruger, Victony, Odeal, Young Jonn, Sarkodie, Flavour, Lil Baby, Latto, Sexyy Red, Chief Keef and many others.  

Unlike last year’s one-day debut, Afro Plus Fest has expanded into a three-day festival for 2026. The organisers are reportedly expecting as many as 120,000 attendees, a massive jump from the 20,000 people who attended the festival’s sold-out debut in 2025.   The festival will bring together Afrobeats, dancehall, amapiano, soca, R&B and hip-hop across multiple stages. From Davido and Wizkid to Tems, Ayra Starr, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold and Ruger, the Nigerian contingent at this year’s festival is seriously stacked.

Beyond the music, organisers have also planned food vendors, fashion, art installations, a carnival, brand activations and a marketplace highlighting Black-owned businesses.  

Afro Plus Fest made its debut in 2025 and reportedly generated about $10 million in local economic impact. With the festival now expanded to three days and organisers projecting up to 120,000 attendees, expectations are considerably higher this year.
