Fans Mourn as Alexx Ekubo’s Loyal Supporter Matilda Dies While Helping Plan His Funeral

A fresh wave of grief has swept through the fan community of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo following the reported death of one of his most devoted supporters, Matilda. The heartbreaking news emerged weeks after the actor’s passing, leaving fans struggling to process yet another tragic loss.  

According to reports shared by Alexx Ekubo’s fan page, Matilda was one of the pioneer members of the actor’s fan club and served as a key link between his family and his supporters. She was affectionately known as “Iyá Ibadan” and was actively coordinating funeral-related activities and communication among fans before her sudden death.  Maltida, however, wasn't just any random fan; she was the owner of Cuisine by HG, and she had catered for big events and personalities, with the Cubana's 50th birthday being one of her most notable works. 

The circumstances surrounding Matilda’s passing remain unclear, but her death has sparked an outpour of emotional tributes online. Many fans described her as kind, selfless, and deeply committed to supporting the actor throughout his career. The tragedy comes amid ongoing mourning for Alexx Ekubo, whose family recently announced funeral arrangements following his death. The actor is scheduled to be buried on June 18 in his hometown in Abia State.  

Fans have since flooded social media with messages of condolence, with many expressing disbelief that someone who was helping organise the actor’s final farewell would pass away before the burial itself. For many supporters, the loss of Matilda has made an already painful period even more heartbreaking.
