“Find Out If They’re Stingy, Can Cook, a Troll or Have an SS Genotype Before You Date Them” - Influencer Simisanya Advises Singles
Influencer Simisanya has sparked conversations online after revealing the important questions she believes every single person should ask before dating, saying compatibility goes far beyond romance.
Influencer Simisanya, wife of popular videographer Femi Dapson, has sparked conversations online after urging singles to sometimes ask uncomfortable but relevant questions during the talking stage before committing to a relationship.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Talk Your Talk podcast, Simisanya said many people focus too much on romance while ignoring important compatibility issues that could determine the success of a future marriage. According to her, one of the first conversations couples should have is about their genotype to avoid emotional heartbreak later.
“People should ask, ‘Are you AS or SS? Are you AA?’ So that if we actually date and later decide we want to marry, we won’t start running around when we discover we’re not compatible.”
She explained that discussing medical compatibility early can save couples from difficult decisions when marriage becomes a possibility. Beyond genotype, Simisanya encouraged singles to talk about everyday habits and lifestyle preferences that often become major sources of conflict in relationships. Using herself as an example, she admitted that she does not enjoy cooking and advised people to be honest about such things from the beginning.
“Those are talking-stage questions. Ask, ‘Do you like fresh food?’ Because I don’t know how to cook, so we might not be compatible.”
The influencer also stressed that a person’s behaviour on social media can reveal a lot about their personality. She advised people to find out whether a potential partner frequently engages in online arguments, trolls others, or displays aggressive behaviour on social media.
“Do you always go and fight on Twitter? Do you beat girls? Are you a banga boy? Are you always on Instagram commenting and fighting? Are you a troll?”
According to her, asking these questions during the talking stage allows both individuals to understand each other’s values, habits, and expectations before entering a serious relationship.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media. While many agreed that conversations about genotype, values, finances, and personality should happen early in a relationship, others argued that some of the questions may be too direct for the talking stage.
Regardless of the differing opinions, Simisanya’s advice has reignited discussions about the importance of compatibility, honesty, and open communication in modern relationships, with many agreeing that asking the right questions early can help prevent unnecessary disappointment later.
