In a video posted from his hospital bed, he said, "If not for God, I wouldn't be alive today. I couldn't have survived that."
He also confirmed that the Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident and has assured him that the perpetrators will be apprehended.
The attack occurred while Joffy and members of his production team were returning from a promotional campaign for their upcoming movie, The Last Bell, when they were confronted by touts demanding money.
According to the statement from Joseph Prince Films on his official TikTok handle, the situation escalated after the demand was refused, leading to a violent altercation.
During the incident, production equipment was reportedly seized, a cast member's phone was taken, and another team member was assaulted.
Joffy sustained a stab injury, while other members of the team also suffered injuries and emotional trauma.
The management of Joseph Prince Films strongly refuted reports suggesting that Joffy had died, describing the claims as false and misleading.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for improved security in Lagos and demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
Some fans have also questioned why the police have not made any arrests yet, while others have expressed concern about the rising wave of violence against content creators in the city.
