"I Had to Quit My Job at Winners' Church Because I'd Get Too Comfortable to Make More Money" – Femi Dapson

Nigerian videographer Femi Dapson has opened up about the early stage of his career, revealing how he left a comfortable position at Winners' Chapel and moved to Lagos to pursue greater opportunities.

"I Had to Quit My Job at Winners' Church Because I'd Get Too Comfortable to Make More Money" – Femi Dapson

Speaking on the podcast with Chude Jideonwo, Dapson said he had attained a high level while working at the church but decided to leave because he feared becoming too comfortable.

"I had to leave Winners, honestly, because I was like, if I stay here, I'll get too comfortable. At the time I was CEO level. I was already working at the highest level of church. No uni degree," he said. He recalled, "I was wearing ties. I was meeting with presidents.

I was like Omo, don't get carried away. You need to go and make money. And then I left. I came to Lagos."

Dapson's decision to leave a secure and prestigious position was a bold move, especially given that he had no university degree.

He explained that he realized early on that staying at the church would limit his potential to grow financially and professionally.

The transition to Lagos was not easy, but he was determined to build a career as a videographer, a field that was still developing in Nigeria at the time.

His decision to leave the church was a calculated risk that ultimately paid off, as he has since become one of the most sought-after videographers in the country.

The videographer's journey is a testament to the power of stepping out of one's comfort zone in pursuit of personal growth.

He has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Burna Boy, Davido, and others.

His story has inspired many young Nigerians who are considering taking similar risks in their own careers.

Dapson has often spoken about the importance of taking calculated risks and believing in oneself, and his journey serves as a reminder that true success often requires stepping outside of one's comfort zone.

Dapson has also spoken about the importance of faith in his journey, noting that his time at Winners' Chapel taught him discipline and integrity, qualities that have helped him succeed in his chosen field.

He credits his time at the church for shaping his character and his work ethic. His willingness to share his story has encouraged many young people to pursue their dreams, even if it means leaving behind the familiar and venturing into the unknown. His journey is a powerful reminder that growth rarely happens in comfort zones.
