"I Will Not Bear the Consequences of His Entitlement" – Nasboi Fires Back at Babaorobo's Allegations
Skitmaker and singer Nasboi has responded to allegations by his colleague Babaorobo, who accused him of belittling him and claiming he had "no value" after he requested transport fare for a job opportunity, with Nasboi dismissing the claims as entitlement.
"I Will Not Bear the Consequences of His Entitlement" – Nasboi Fires Back at Babaorobo's Allegations
Babaorobo had shared an emotional video detailing his side of the story, claiming he had worked with Nasboi since 2022, travelling long distances from Iju Ishaga, Bariga, and later Ikorodu to Lekki for shoots, sometimes receiving only N10,000. He also claimed Nasboi had recommended him for an AY stage play valued at N200,000, but when he requested transport support as a family man of four, he was allegedly told he had "no value".
In the video, a visibly upset Babaorobo repeatedly asked, "Shey me, I get value wetin people dey look for? Shey I no get value?". His manager, Swag Omoluabi, defended the request, insisting there was "nothing bad" in asking for transport for "a family man of four that doesn't have anything".
However, leaked voice notes allegedly from Nasboi have surfaced, painting a different picture. In one, Nasboi reportedly said, "Dem discuss N200,000 for you… N200k should be enough for you to take your transport back to your house".
On another occasion, when Babaorobo asked for Uber fare to attend a shoot in Lekki, Nasboi allegedly responded, "You can't say, 'Send me money for Uber.' Don't act like you're entitled all the time!" He also reportedly accused Babaorobo of having a "character problem".
Nasboi has now broken his silence, insisting that he has built a reputation over the past six years for helping both colleagues and strangers, arguing that it is unfair to judge him based on one person's complaint despite working with hundreds of people.
According to him, "If you've known me for the last six years, you know I'm an open book. I've been kind not just to those close to me, but often to strangers as well. So, if you're going to judge me based on one person's complaint, despite over 500 people I've worked with, then there's little I can do".
He also claimed that he worked with Babaorobo about five times and ensured he was paid each time.
Addressing the issue of value, Nasboi insisted that he has worked with hundreds of people and the complaint from Babaorobo does not reflect his overall track record.
He maintained that he properly handled the situation and rejected the claims of being disrespectful . Nasboi also recalled recommending Babaorobo for a job with AY that paid N200,000 for one night, but said the requests continued beyond that .
"I even gave him a job with AY, paid at 200k in one night. But he still kept calling me to provide a hotel, and even asked me to get my followers to help him buy a car because he was coming from far. I will not face the consequences of his entitlement. If you choose to judge me by that, then there's absolutely nothing I can do".
Nasboi's response has divided opinions online. Some supporters praised him for refusing to enable what they see as excessive demands, while others argued that asking for transport for a distant job is reasonable and that the "no value" remarks crossed a line.
The exchange has sparked wider conversations about payment standards, respect, and entitlement within Nigeria's content creation circles, with many weighing in on the ethics of freelancing, collaboration, and financial expectations in the entertainment industry.
