"I Would Rather Die Than Let This Case Die" – Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez Drag Dapper Over Unpaid Royalties

Singers Shallipopi and Seyi Vibez have resumed their public attack on music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, demanding a face-to-face meeting over allegations of unpaid royalties, forged signatures, and financial exploitation, with Shallipopi vowing that he would "rather die" than let the case fade away.

"I Would Rather Die Than Let This Case Die" – Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez Drag Dapper Over Unpaid Royalties

The tension escalated on August 17, 2026, with Shallipopi issuing a direct challenge to Dapper on social media. "This dapper guy still come online come lie. U come defend ke.

Dapper we are almost 10 artist now saying similar stuff. Please pay your lawyers well cause this war u go swim for gutter," he wrote. The singer, who was previously signed to the label, insisted he has concrete evidence and is ready to take the matter to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

"I don tweet finish, Mr Damilola Akinwunmi Aka dapper, let's meet and get this over with. I'm tired of this online ranting when I have real-life evidence against u with the EFCC," Shallipopi declared.

He also revealed that he had previously approached Burna Boy to mediate, but Dapper allegedly refused to cooperate.

Seyi Vibez, who left the label two years ago, also added his voice to the growing chorus of accusations. He claimed that his earnings were used to fund Dapper's other signings and that he played a major role in building the label's profile. "I am bigger than the whole Dapper and his entire generation.

And my money was the money being used to sign all the artistes he signed since Chance Naham! I made Dapper," he wrote. In a direct jab at the music executive, he posted, "If dapper see me for real life E fit faint," while also accusing him of using jazz against him.

The latest wave of allegations comes as T.I Blaze also accused Dapper Music of licensing his music without consent and questioned the handling of over N1.2 billion in unexplained revenue.

Shallipopi, in particular, has made serious allegations, claiming Dapper forged his signature on a 10-year distribution contract and signed a deal with Virgin Music Group without his knowledge.

He alleged that Dapper pocketed the money from the deal and told him to continue working, promising future payments. "I might be from the trenches but I'm not the dumb type," Shallipopi wrote.

Dapper has responded to the allegations by denying all claims and insisting that the relevant records and authorities would establish the truth. "I have nothing to hide.

The records exist. The authorities have them. Let the process establish the truth," he wrote. He also challenged the artistes to submit their contracts to independent forensic auditors, naming top firms like KPMG, PwC, and Deloitte, and claimed an audit had already been conducted

Dapper also questioned Shallipopi's signature allegation, pointing out inconsistencies in his previous statements.

As the public dispute continues to unfold, the industry is watching closely. The accusations of forged signatures, unpaid royalties, and contractual exploitation have raised serious questions about transparency and fairness in Nigeria's music industry.

With Shallipopi vowing to pursue the case "even if it kills him" and Seyi Vibez's sharp rebuttals, the controversy shows no signs of cooling down.

The EFCC and other authorities may now be called upon to intervene and resolve the bitter dispute.
