“If You Truly Love Children, You Might Not Want to Bring Them Into This World” - Nancy Isime Sparks Debate on Parenthood

Media personality Nancy Isime has stirred debate on social media after suggesting that when one truly loves children, they might be reluctant to bring them into a world filled with struggles and vanity.

Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has sparked conversations online after sharing her unconventional views on parenthood.

Speaking during an appearance on the Thanks For Coming podcast, the actress revealed that although she loves children, she sometimes questions whether bringing them into the world is truly an act of love. According to Nancy, life is filled with challenges, struggles, and uncertainties, leading her to believe that genuinely caring about children could make one hesitant about introducing them to such realities.

“You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn’t want to bring them into the world,” she said.

Reflecting on the hardships many people face daily, the actress pointed to the emotional, financial, and personal struggles that often come with life.

“Are you not suffering today? Have you not seen shege today? Is earth not ghetto? Are you not going through a lot? Don’t you wish some days that you were not born?” she asked.

However, when asked whether her perspective meant she had decided against having children of her own, Nancy clarified that she has not ruled out motherhood. According to her, suffering and challenges are an inevitable part of the human experience, and future generations will have to navigate their own journeys just as previous generations have done.

“No, everybody has to suffer. They will come and suffer their own. They’re not going to escape it,” she added.

Nancy’s comments have since generated mixed reactions online. While some agreed with her candid assessment of life’s difficulties, others argued that despite its challenges, life also offers joy, purpose, love, and opportunities that make the journey worthwhile. As the conversation continues, her remarks have reignited a broader debate about parenthood, the realities of modern living, and what it truly means to prepare the next generation for the world they will inherit.
