“I’m Weak… God Please Take Control”- Davido Reacts to Nigeria’s Growing Insecurity

Afrobeats superstar Davido has joined the growing list of public figures speaking out against the wave of insecurity in Nigeria, expressing heartbreak over recent incidents of violence, kidnappings, and attacks across the country.

In a new emotional X post, Davido voiced his frustration and sadness over the state of security in Nigeria, writing:

I’m weak, God pls take control. We can’t continue like this …. my heart goes out to the victims and family .. this is messed up.”

The singer’s comments are coming amid widespread public concern following reports of kidnappings, killings, and attacks affecting communities in different parts of the country. His message quickly resonated with fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom echoed his concerns and offered prayers for affected families. Davido, who has often used his platform to comment on national issues and support humanitarian causes, expressed sympathy for victims and their loved ones, emphasising the emotional toll that continued insecurity is taking on ordinary Nigerians.

He further explained that he and his colleagues need to do better by using their platforms to speak up for a higher cause. I can’t lie, we entertainers .. we Dey fuckup I won’t lie, including me … we need to speak up … it’s too much injustice goin on .. our country don go, he said. The post generated thousands of reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing that the country is facing a critical security challenge that requires urgent attention from authorities. Others praised the singer for speaking out and using his influence to amplify public concerns. In recent weeks, conversations about insecurity have dominated public discourse, with citizens, activists, religious leaders, and entertainers increasingly calling for stronger measures to protect lives and property.

Davido’s message serves as both a call for compassion toward victims and a reminder of the urgent need for lasting solutions to the country’s security challenges.
