Uche Ogbodo has confirmed her separation from husband Bobby Maris after eight years of marriage, and she has now set the record straight about her priorities.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, the actress made it clear that she will not be discussing the details of her marriage breakdown unless absolutely necessary. "My priority right now is raising my children, my healing, however that journey unfolds, and moving forward with dignity and peace of mind," she wrote.
The actress, a mother of three, has found herself at the centre of attention since the announcement of her separation. In a now-viral post, she revealed that she has been receiving about 100 direct messages from men daily, a development she described as overwhelming.
"Nah wah ooo! It's like all these men have been looking for a way to get to me, 'cos what in the heaven is going on in my DM," she wrote, adding, "I'm not searching yet! Let me breathe 1st Ogini! 100 DMs a day is too much for just me nah. Haba!"
The actress had earlier appeared distressed in an emotional video where she was seen crying and told a friend she was "going through heartbreak". She captioned that post, "Done being strong! Thank you to everyone putting a smile on my face".
Her emotional breakdown followed days of speculation about her marriage, which was sparked by the couple unfollowing each other on Instagram and sharing cryptic posts.
Uche confirmed the separation in a post where she questioned why ending a marriage should be considered taboo when a woman is exhausted by it.
She wrote, "For person to tire for marriage now nah taboo because nah woman! Must it always be man must taya? My tayad is tayad! I'm tired of the princess wey dey marry me".
The actress, who has been married to Bobby Maris since January 2023, has two children with him. She has also stated that she will not discuss the details of the breakdown unless there is an absolute need to do so.
