Seyi Tinubu Reacts After Cubana Chief Priest Loses APC Reps Ticket in Imo
Seyi Tinubu has reacted after socialite Cubana Chief Priest failed to secure the APC ticket for a House of Representatives seat in Imo State, offering words of encouragement after the political setback.
Celebrity barman and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has suffered a political setback after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State. He reportedly polled just 14 votes out of the 2,845 votes cast, thereby losing the party ticket to Canice Nwachukwu.
Following the result, Seyi Tinubu, the Patron of the City Boy Movement, took to Instagram to console Cubana.
In his message, Seyi wrote:
“Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up, @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving.”
Cubana Chief Priest has reposted the message, signalling appreciation for the support.
Before the election, Cubana had campaigned on promises of youth empowerment, grassroots development, and increased political participation, positioning himself as a fresh voice in Imo politics. However, his defeat has sparked widespread reactions online, with supporters expressing disappointment while critics questioned his political readiness.
Cubana himself reacted emotionally, saying he had no regrets contesting, but admitted his “only regret” was trusting certain community elders.
While Cubana Chief Priest’s first major political outing ended in defeat, Seyi Tinubu’s public support suggests his allies still believe his political journey may be far from over.
