"Stop Begging and Work for Your Money" – Zic Saloma Warns Those Constantly Asking for Millions

Skit maker Zic Saloma has called out individuals who constantly beg for money on social media, advising them to stop asking for handouts and instead focus on learning valuable skills and creating content that can generate sustainable income.

"Stop Begging and Work for Your Money" – Zic Saloma Warns Those Constantly Asking for Millions

The comedian and content creator, who has built a successful career from skit making after leaving his lecturing job at Kaduna Polytechnic, addressed the growing trend of people flooding celebrities and influencers with requests for large sums of money.

In a video that has since gone viral, Zic Saloma specifically called out those asking for N5 million and above, urging them to stop begging and start working.

"Stop begging and work for your money" he said.

Those philanthropists you see giving people millions often make that money back through content monetization," he said, highlighting how wealthy individuals and influencers turn their charitable gestures into profitable content.

Zic Saloma, whose real name is Isaac Aloma, has been vocal about financial independence and skill acquisition for years. He has previously urged young Nigerians to stop relying on handouts and invest in learning income-generating skills, warning that nobody will keep giving them money forever

"You can't have money if you don't have a skill," he said in a previous viral video, explaining that without a valuable skill, a person's chances of earning a steady income are almost zero.

He also pointed out that many people who beg lack basic employable skills like cooking, driving, or computer literacy, making them dependent on others for survival.

His latest remarks also shed light on the business side of philanthropy. He argued that many high-profile philanthropists who give away large sums often monetize their generosity through content creation, sponsorship deals, and increased visibility on social media platforms.

Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram offer multiple revenue streams for creators, including ad revenue sharing, brand partnerships, and affiliate marketing, allowing them to recoup and even profit from their charitable gestures.

Zic Saloma urged Nigerians to stop viewing philanthropy as free money and instead see it as part of a larger ecosystem where generosity often comes with strategic benefits.

The skit maker, who left his lecturing career to pursue content creation full-time after struggling for three years, has become a strong advocate for self-reliance.

He encouraged people to seek mentors who can teach them valuable trades rather than constantly asking for money. "Instead of disturbing people for money, disturb people you can learn skills from," he advised, suggesting that learning trades like hairdressing, barbering, driving, or becoming a chef could open doors to financial success.

His comments have sparked a wider conversation about financial independence, self-reliance, and the importance of skill acquisition in a country where unemployment and economic uncertainty continue to push young people to seek handouts from strangers online.
