“There Is Nothing I Can Do, the Evidence Is More Than Enough” - DJ Chicken’s Lawyer Begs Seyi Tinubu to Forgive Influencer After Alleged Arrest
Fresh controversy has erupted around controversial entertainer DJ Chicken after reports emerged that he was allegedly arrested over comments made about Seyi Tinubu.
The lawyer representing controversial Nigerian entertainer DJ Chicken has made a passionate public appeal to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking him to forgive his client following news of the influencer’s alleged arrest over comments he made online.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the lawyer claimed that DJ Chicken was arrested in Ikeja and is currently being held by security authorities. He claims DJ Chicken was arrested because of some statements he made a few days ago about Seyi.
“DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja. He’s now at Ikeja police headquarters, but I’m very sure it is the DSS,” the lawyer said.
He admitted that the situation seems very serious, stating that the evidence against his client is substantial and that there is little he can do legally at this stage. The lawyer then made an emotional appeal to Nigerians, especially those with connections to the Presidency, to intervene on DJ Chicken’s behalf.
“Please, fans and well-wishers, people that like Chicken, people that are close to the presidency, please help us to beg. We earnestly beg the President, the son of the President, please forgive Chicken.”
In a further plea for leniency, the lawyer suggested that DJ Chicken has mental health challenges, saying his client has not been entirely well.
“He’s not okay like that. We are just managing him. In fact, Chicken is my personal project. I just picked interest in him.” “He has messed up, but please, we are begging. Everybody that I know that is close to Seyi Tinubu, I will start calling them now just for us to beg.”
The development has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians once again debating the limits of free speech and the consequences of controversial social media comments.
