"Toyin Abraham Did Not Cause My Marriage Collapse" – Femi Adebayo's Ex-Wife Breaks Silence
Omotayo Sanusi, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, has finally broken her silence on the long-circulating rumours linking actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele to the breakdown of her marriage, describing the claims as entirely false and fabricated.

In a detailed statement shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Sanusi, popularly known as Iyan Aladuke, addressed the allegations that have followed her since her separation from the actor became public in early 2025.
The couple, who married in October 2016 and have one child together, had been the subject of intense speculation after fans noticed they had stopped appearing together online and had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The rumours were recently revived by a TikTok blogger, Mama Esabod, who claimed that Toyin Abraham had informed Sanusi about an alleged romantic relationship between Femi Adebayo and Funke Akindele during the production of Jagun Jagun Part 2, leading to a confrontation on set.
Sanusi, however, rejected every part of that account. "The allegation that actress Toyin Abraham was responsible for the problems in my marriage by allegedly informing me that another actress was with my then-partner on a movie set is completely false," she wrote.
She insisted that no such confrontation ever took place, stating, "For the record, I never confronted, attacked, assaulted, or harassed any woman or man at any movie location. No such incident ever took place".
She further challenged anyone who genuinely claimed to have been attacked or harassed by her during the production to publicly come forward and provide evidence.
Sanusi explained that she had deliberately remained silent for years out of respect for everyone involved, but decided to speak because the false narratives were increasingly being presented as facts . She stressed, "My silence should never be interpreted as an admission that these allegations are true.
I have remained silent out of respect for everyone involved and because I chose peace over public disputes" . She also pointed out that she was present throughout the production referenced in the rumours and actively contributed to its success, with her team catering for over 500 cast and crew members for more than a month.
In response to an Instagram user who asked her to also clear Funke Akindele's name, Sanusi denied ever accusing the actress of any wrongdoing.
"You are still gullible enough to believe I said that. Let her provide evidence that I ever said those words. Until then, don't present allegations as facts," she replied.
The clarification has drawn widespread reactions, with many applauding her for finally speaking out, while others remain skeptical.
Neither Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele, nor Femi Adebayo has publicly responded to Sanusi's statement at the time of writing.
