He stays in his lover-boy bag with Titi, where remorse and reassurance tangle like tangled sheets. Assisted by rising talent FOLA, the song is a melodic apology dressed in soft percussion and nostalgic hues. Kizz tries to patch things up with “Omo na just one time thing, no go try am again” - a line that’s as familiar as it is believable. The EP’s midpoint shifts gear with Secure, a thumping, street-inflected anthem that brings Zlatan into the fold. This is where the swagger kicks in. Kizz, Odumodublvck, and Bella Shmurda mourn friends and family who have passed - fathers, brothers, and, most strikingly, Mohbad. The production is sombre yet spiritual, carrying the weight of real pain without drowning. Odumodublvck’s verse is raw and restrained, Bella’s is tender, and Kizz’s is wistful - together, they build a song that feels like lighting a candle in the dark.
The vibe turns smoky and reflective on Peace I Choose, a sensual duet with Runtown. Over a slow-burning beat, Kizz dances between lust and fatigue, saying: “You dey mess with my diet, ma… I no dey complain o cos I like it.” Runtown’s verse brings in his usual restraint — nonchalant but aware - as both men flirt with the idea of leaving even when the chemistry is good. It’s grown-folk music, but not self-righteous.
Eyo is the party track. Think: celebratory, slightly chaotic, Lagos after 10 p.m. It’s got the bounciness of Amapiano without being a full embrace of it, and Kizz sounds like he’s having the time of his life. “We're outside like we homeless,” he sings, tongue-in-cheek, confident, and aware of the zeitgeist.
Then there’s Police, the finale - a standout collaboration with Johnny Drille and Angélique Kidjo. It’s Afro-Fusion at its most elegant. Kizz Daniel jokes about mismatched love languages (“On a Sunday morning, she wan do something, I wan go church o”), Drille offers calm but fed-up commentary, and Kidjo breathes fire and grace into the track with her multi-lingual verse and an interpolation of her classic “Agolo.” This is where the EP feels most global, most daring - but still unmistakably rooted in Kizz’s core aesthetic.
