"Why Should I Learn a Trade From a Man Who Can't Make N20,000 a Week?" – TikToker Peller Opens Up on Refusing Apprenticeship

Popular TikToker and streamer Peller has revealed why he repeatedly refused to learn a trade despite pressure from his parents, saying he could not understand why he should apprentice under someone who struggled to make N20,000 in a week.

"Why Should I Learn a Trade From a Man Who Can't Make N20,000 a Week?" – TikToker Peller Opens Up on Refusing Apprenticeship

Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, has never been one to follow the conventional path, and his latest revelation about his upbringing sheds light on his mindset from a young age.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, the TikTok sensation explained that his parents constantly pressured him to learn a trade, but he refused because he saw no logic in apprenticing under someone who was not financially successful.

"My daddy want me to learn work. My mommy want me to learn work, but me I no want learn work," he said, making it clear that he had his own ideas about how to succeed in life.

Peller's reasoning was simple but striking. He questioned what assurance he would have that the trade he was being pressured to learn would actually lead to financial success. "Imagine, they tell you say, make I go learn work for poor man.

And person wey be say, to make 20,000 naira in one week, e dey hard am. Wetin give me the assurance say me I go dey make pass am? Him wey sabi the work pass me, wey want teach me the work," he said.

His argument highlights a fundamental flaw in the traditional Nigerian mindset that learning a trade is a guaranteed path to success, regardless of who is teaching it.

The TikToker's refusal to follow the conventional path has clearly paid off, as he is now one of the most successful content creators in Nigeria, with a massive following and a thriving career.

His success story challenges the notion that formal education or traditional apprenticeships are the only routes to prosperity.

Peller's journey is a testament to the power of identifying one's strengths and pursuing a path that aligns with those strengths, even if it goes against societal expectations.

Peller's comments have sparked a broader conversation about the effectiveness of traditional apprenticeships in Nigeria and the importance of financial literacy.

His story serves as an inspiration to young people who are often pressured to follow paths that may not lead to financial freedom.

Ehile his approach may not work for everyone, his success demonstrates that there is d o one-size-fits-all formula for achieving prosperity.
