Fresh online footage of Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has sparked discussion after she was reportedly seen leaving a court in London.

The clips, which have been circulating on social media, appear to show the ex-minister in London, reigniting public interest in her long-running legal battles and life outside Nigeria.

Diezani, who served as Nigeria’s petroleum minister between 2010 and 2015 under former president Goodluck Jonathan, has remained a central figure in one of the country’s most talked-about corruption cases for years. She also made history as the first female president of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), a position she held briefly in 2014.

Her recent appearance aligns with reports that she is currently on trial in London over allegations of bribery and financial misconduct. UK prosecutors have accused her of receiving benefits, including luxury properties, expensive gifts, and other high-value perks, from business figures seeking influence in Nigeria’s oil sector.

However, Diezani has consistently denied all allegations. Her legal team argues that she did not improperly influence contract decisions and maintains that any benefits linked to her were either legitimate or misinterpreted.

Despite years of investigations across multiple countries including asset seizures probes her case remains one of the most complex involving a former Nigerian public official.
