Nollywood actress Damilola Oni has brought attention to the troubling situation many female celebrities quietly deal with, and it’s not sitting well with a lot of people online.

In a recent statement that has since gone viral, the actress revealed that she regularly receives explicit and inappropriate messages from male fans. Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV, the actress said the situation has become a daily reality, especially on social media where she is often sexualized because of her body.

“Early in the morning, when I open my Instagram, men will send me explicit pictures, saying ‘I am everything you need, baby,’” she said. “All sorts of messages are in my inbox, even from elderly men. Some will even say they watched me on TV and used me for self-gratification,” she stated.

Her experience has sparked a broader conversation about online harrasment, especially towards women in the public eye. Many people pointed out that being a celebrity does not mean losing personal boundaries and that there is a need for better awareness and respect online.
