Ayra Starr Pushes Back Release of Third Album Starr Girl, New Date Set for August 14

Just weeks after confirming that her third studio album ‘Starr Girl’ would arrive in July 2026, Nigerian pop star Ayra Starr has reportedly pushed the project back to a new release date: August 14.  The album was first officially announced during Ayra Starr’s appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she revealed both the album title and its original July release date.

While no official reason has been publicly given for the delay, fans are already speculating that the move could be strategic possibly to allow for more singles, or more seasoned collaborations. 

Starr Girl is one of the most anticipated African albums of 2026 and will serve as the follow-up to Ayra Starr’s critically acclaimed second album The Year I Turned 21, which debuted at No. 1 in Nigeria. The upcoming project has already been teased with the release of Where Do We Go, the album’s lead single, which gave fans an early taste of what Ayra has described as a more mature and adventurous sound.  

Despite the delay, fan excitement remains high, with many seeing the new date as simply more time to prepare for what could be one of the year’s biggest Afrobeats releases.
