“The Entire Country Needs Security” - Nasboi Questions FG’s Deployment of 1,000 Forest Guards to Oyo Alone

Popular comedian and singer Nasboi has joined the growing conversation surrounding the Federal Government’s response to the recent school abduction crisis in Oyo State. His reaction came after President Bola Tinubu approved the recruitment and deployment of 1,000 forest guards to strengthen security in Oyo following the kidnapping of several teachers and schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area. The Federal Government also announced the deployment of a specialized rescue team and revealed that requests for a military base in the affected area were being considered.

Reacting online, the entertainer questioned why such a massive security deployment was being directed to only one state when many other parts of Nigeria continue to battle kidnapping, banditry, violent attacks, and other security challenges.

According to him:

“If the government has provided 1000 forest guards in the oyo community.

What about borno? Zamfara?

Osun? Kebbi?

Niger delta, NIGERIA?

At this point, the entire country needs security”.

His comment quickly gained attention on social media, with many Nigerians sharing mixed opinions. Some users agreed with Nasboi, arguing that insecurity has become a national issue that affects several states and should be addressed rather than concentrating resources in one location. Others, however, defended the government’s decision, noting that the deployment was a direct response to a major emergency involving abducted schoolchildren and teachers,  and it requires immediate intervention.
