Fans of Nigerian Afrobeats star Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, are finally getting an answer to his recent silence on the music front. BlownBoy Entertainment, Ruger’s label, said in a statement that has sparked a wave of responses across social media that the singer has been facing personal and legal challenges after a former romantic partner allegedly sued him for emotional distress and damages.

“For some time, Ruger was caught up in a series of personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged "emotional distress," and "damages,” the statement read. The revelation came as fans started to wonder why the hitmaker, who has had chart-topping songs and a steady stream of releases, appeared to have taken a hiatus in recent months.
