“Enough Is Enough!” - Actress Doris Ogala Joins Protest, Demands Urgent Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren and Teachers

Nollywood actress and Abia State AAC governorship candidate Doris Ogala has added her voice to the growing nationwide outcry over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity. Taking to the streets alongside supporters, the actress called for immediate government action to rescue the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State, insisting that Nigerians can no longer remain silent.

“Enough Is Enough!” - Actress Doris Ogala Joins Protest, Demands Urgent Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren and Teachers

Nigerian actress and politician Doris Ogala has joined the growing number of public figures calling for action to be taken against the rising insecurity in the country. The actress, who is also the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, led a public protest to demand that authorities intensify efforts to secure the release of the schoolchildren and teachers recently abducted in Oyo State.

Ogala, who was carrying placards and marching with supporters, urged the government to prioritise the safety of citizens, saying that many Nigerians were living in fear due to the continued wave of kidnappings. The protest was part of a wider Democracy Day protests across the country where citizens raised concerns over insecurity, rising cases of kidnapping and economic hardship. Her presence comes as celebrities, activists and civil society groups have been calling for stronger action to address the country’s security challenges. The abduction of Oyo pupils and teachers has become a national conversation with several public figures taking to their platforms in recent days demanding the safe return of the abducted Oyo pupils and teachers.

Videos and photos from Ogala’s protest quickly went viral on the internet, attracting mixed reactions. While many Nigerians hailed her for coming out of social media and participating in the protest physically, others focused on the turnout, with some critics mocking the relatively low number of protesters.

Online criticism notwithstanding, supporters countered that size does not diminish the message of a protest. They insisted that the voice raised in defence of innocent lives counts, especially at a time when kidnappings have become one of the country’s most pressing security concerns.

As pressure continues to mount on the authorities, protesters remain determined to demand for the rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers.
