“Just Be Accountable” - Odumodublvck Calls Out Ladies Who Blame Their Partners After Breakups

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has sparked a fresh relationship debate online after criticizing women who blame their partners for their actions following a breakup.

“Just Be Accountable” - Odumodublvck Calls Out Ladies Who Blame Their Partners After Breakups

The rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticise what he called a growing trend of women excusing their behaviour by saying their partners didn’t lead the relationship. Odumodublvck poked fun at the common phrase “I acted like that because you could not lead” and argued that adults should take responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming their partners.

“Just Be Accountable.”

“In every relationship, one person has to be accountable for themselves,” the rapper said. “You can’t expect your partner to be leading you around making sure you don’t make bad decisions. In the strongly-worded post, he suggested that people should take responsibility for their mistakes instead of blaming others for their choices or behaviours during a relationship.

Predictably, the post sparked furious reactions on the internet. Some users agreed with the rapper, arguing that relationship problems are rarely one-sided and that both parties should be willing to acknowledge their shortcomings after a breakup. Others felt his comments were unfair in their generalising of all women, and argued that poor leadership, neglect, manipulation, or emotional unavailability from a partner can play a large role in relationship problems at times.

Odumodublvck’s recent statements have brought back the age-old debate on accountability in relationships. Many believe people should take responsibility for their actions, but others argue that relationship breakdowns are more complex than blaming one person. Wherever people stand, the rapper’s message has once again worked to get social media talking.
