“Mr Ibu Did Not Do Well At All” - Rita Edochie Blames Late Actor’s Polygamy For Family Crisis

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie sparks conversations online after sharing her thoughts on the family crisis that followed the death of late actor, Mr Ibu.

Speaking on the circumstances surrounding the late actor’s family, Rita Edochie believes Mr Ibu made a grave mistake by embracing polygamy, saying the decision laid the foundation for the disputes that surfaced after his passing. According to the actress, Mr Ibu’s personal family structure created unnecessary complications that have continued to generate public controversy even after his death.

“Mr Ibu did not do well at all,” Rita Edochie said, blaming his choice of a polygamous lifestyle for the conflicts within his family.

She noted that situations involving multiple partners and children from different relationships often become difficult to manage, especially when issues relating to inheritance, responsibilities, and family leadership arise after the death of a loved one. Rita stressed that the disagreements currently associated with the late actor’s family serve as a lesson on the importance of building a peaceful and home while one is still alive.

Her comments have since sparked mixed reactions across social media. While some Nigerians agreed with her, arguing that polygamy is one of the leading problems in family disputes, others maintained that conflicts can occur in both polygamous and monogamous families, depending on how relationships are managed.

Since Mr Ibu’s passing, reports of disagreements among members of his family have repeatedly made headlines, fueling public interest in the affairs surrounding the late actor’s estate and loved ones. Rita Edochie’s remarks have once again brought the conversation to the forefront.
