Actress Cossy Ojiakor counts her losses after flood wreaks havoc on her home and properties in Lagos

Nollywood actress Cossy Ojiakor has shared the devastating impact of the recent flooding on her properties. She revealed that her home and several of her belongings were badly damaged after heavy rainfall submerged her entire neighbourhood.

According to the actress, the flood left her stranded, as water had inundated her residence and made movement in her area nearly impossible. She took to social media to post videos showing dirty floodwater inside her home, with damaged furniture piled on top of her car in an attempt to salvage what she could. Cossy disclosed that her neighbours came to her aid during the ordeal, helping her move her belongings to safety.  

The actress also revealed that she had recently undergone ankle hardware removal surgery, making the situation even more difficult to cope with.

“I had ankle hardware removal surgery last month… I dreaded the floods. My neighbours helped me a lot. But now I am healed and no longer use crutches. Had to pack spoiled furniture on top of my car.”  

Expressing her frustration, Cossy said it was the first time in years her home had been flooded. She blamed changes to the drainage system in her area, claiming that the removal of a nearby canal contributed to the flooding. The flooding comes amid widespread heavy rainfall across several parts of Lagos, leaving roads submerged, disrupting traffic, and damaging homes and businesses in various communities.  

Her experience has sparked sympathy from fans, with many calling for improved drainage infrastructure and better flood management in Lagos
