"I'm Bigger Than Peter Obi" – Deji Adeyanju Fires Back, Claims Greater Sacrifices for Nigeria

Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has sparked fresh controversy by claiming he is "bigger" than former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, arguing that he has made greater sacrifices for Nigeria's democracy than the former governor.

"I'm Bigger Than Peter Obi" – Deji Adeyanju Fires Back, Claims Greater Sacrifices for Nigeria

The lawyer made the bold declaration during a recent interview, where he was asked about his disagreements with Obi. Adeyanju did not mince words, stating that he considered himself to be on the same level as Obi and dismissed attempts to compare him to the former governor's aides.

"If you don't like me and you send your aides to insult me, I will insult you back. But I will not join issues with your aides. I'm bigger than his aides. I'm bigger than Peter Obi. I have made more sacrifices for this country than him," he said, making it clear that he would not be drawn into a debate with Obi's supporters.

The lawyer alleged that Obi does not like him and that people associated with the former governor have insulted and defamed him. He insisted that he would always respond whenever he was attacked, but he refused to engage with Obi's aides, arguing that such exchanges would lower his standing.

"When you insult me, I will insult you back. But I'm not an equal of your aides. I'm not going to talk to your aides. I will talk to you directly," he said, drawing a clear distinction between himself and Obi's supporters.

Adeyanju has been a vocal critic of the former presidential candidate and has previously accused him of being "undemocratic." In earlier comments, he claimed that Obi does not tolerate people who do not agree with him and that the former governor is "not a democrat".

He has also described Obi as "arrogant, unbending, and not ready for leadership". In one post, Adeyanju wrote, "I'm not afraid to speak about Peter Obi. I don't worship him. He is a man like me." His latest remarks continue this pattern of direct criticism, making it clear that he has no interest in holding back his opinions.

The activist also alleged that Obi's supporters, known as "Obidients," have been unfairly attacking him and his clients, including activist VeryDarkMan, over their involvement in the Mohbad case. He has previously accused Obi of leading a "cult-like" movement that tolerates no dissent.

In response, Obi's media team has dismissed Adeyanju's criticisms, questioning his credibility and accusing him of making "unsubstantiated, baseless, and false allegations".

The former governor's team described Adeyanju as a "serial deceiver" and "disgruntled individual" seeking relevance.

As the war of words continues, Adeyanju shows no signs of backing down, insisting that he has earned the right to speak his mind.
