‘Your Dreams Might Seem So Far Away’ - Ayra Starr Opens Up About Her Zayn Malik Collaboration

Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has shared the inspiring story behind her collaboration with global pop star Zayn Malik, revealing that working with him was once a distant dream that eventually became reality.

Nigerian Afropop star Ayra Starr has opened up about the emotional journey behind her collaboration with global pop star Zayn Malik, describing it as a dream she once believed was far beyond her reach.

The Mavin Records star reflected on the collaboration while encouraging fans to keep working towards their goals, even when their dreams appear impossible. According to Ayra Starr, recording a song with someone of Zayn’s global stature was something she had dreamed about long before it became a reality.

“Your dreams might seem so far away, but you just have to work towards it.”

She continued:

“Being able to have a song with someone like Zayn Malik is something I dreamt about, and it felt so far away.”

For Ayra Starr, the collaboration represents more than another major international feature. The singer has previously spoken about being a fan of Zayn and his music, making the opportunity to eventually share a song with him particularly meaningful.

The two artistes collaborated on “Heaven Baby,” a track from Ayra Starr’s third studio album, Starrgirl. The song brings together Ayra’s Afropop style with Zayn’s distinctive pop and R&B sound, creating a collaboration that fans have been eagerly discussing.

Beyond celebrating the collaboration, Ayra used the experience to pass on a message about pursuing one’s ambitions. She acknowledged that some dreams can initially appear incredibly distant, especially when they involve working with people who seem to exist on an entirely different level of success.

But according to the singer, distance should not be mistaken for impossibility. Her own experience of going from admiring Zayn from afar to eventually recording a song with him serves as the example. The singer’s journey is also a reflection of how quickly her own career has grown. From emerging as one of Nigeria’s promising young female artistes, Ayra Starr has gone on to build an international audience and collaborate with some of the biggest names in music.

Ayra Starr’s message is ultimately a simple one: don’t abandon a dream simply because it currently looks too far away. Ayra Starr is reminding her fans that sometimes the dreams that seem the most impossible are simply dreams that require more time and work to become reality.
