Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has given Nigerians another hilarious account of what happened after the lavish wedding of popular content creators Peller and Jarvis, claiming that guests who arrived at the ceremony looking like “big men” eventually left the venue in a completely different manner. The singer made the revelation while speaking about the atmosphere at the high-profile Lagos wedding, which attracted several celebrities, entertainers and prominent personalities.

According to Seun Kuti, the glamorous appearance of the wedding did not reflect what happened when it was time for guests to leave. He humorously claimed that everyone appeared to be in a hurry to escape the venue.

“At Peller’s wedding, all of us left there as if we were thieves. Everybody escaped from that wedding.”

Seun continued by joking that the guests’ “big man” status seemed to disappear the moment they began making their way out.

“Nobody left the wedding like a big man. Nobody left like the big man that we were when we arrived.”

Explaining what he believed caused the chaotic departure, Seun pointed to the presence of Agberos and touts in Lagos, claiming that they made the situation uncomfortable for guests.

“We were leaving as if they were pursuing thieves because the Agberos in Lagos were too much,” he said.

His colourful description has since generated reactions online, with Nigerians finding humour in the contrast between the lavishness of the wedding and the way he described the guests’ eventual exit.

Peller and Jarvis’ wedding was one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year, attracting a star-studded guest list. The wedding had plenty of viral moments, including Seun Kuti’s earlier departure from the venue.
