"Nobody will intimidate us again at the polling booth," he declared, urging Nigerians to stand firm and protect their votes.
The former Anambra State governor argued that voters have the power to resist intimidation, pointing out that the number of officials at polling units is small compared to the number of voters.
"If you get to any polling booth today, the highest number of officials you see is five.
The average number of voters is 40 to 50. There is no way five people will intimidate 50 people," he said. He also emphasised the importance of collective action in safeguarding the electoral process, adding, "This time all of us will rescue our country."
Obi's vow has drawn a mix of reactions, with some praising his commitment to protecting the integrity of the electoral process and others questioning whether such rhetoric is practical.
