BBNaija Bella Takes Sheggz to Court Over Alleged Broken Marriage Promise, Domestic Abuse and Millions Owed
Former BBNaija couple Bella Okagbue and Sheggz have taken their bitter breakup to a new level, with legal representatives trading serious allegations over an alleged broken marriage promise, abuse and money.
What started as one of BBNaija’s most talked-about relationships has taken a dramatic turn, as reality star Bella Okagbue and her former boyfriend Sheggz have become embroiled in a legal battle following the collapse of their relationship. Bella’s legal team has reportedly issued a pre-action notice against Sheggz, raising allegations including breach of promise to marry, domestic abuse and outstanding financial obligations.
The development comes months after the couple, who began their relationship during the 2022 BBNaija “Level Up” season, went their separate ways. According to documents reportedly issued by Bella’s lawyers, Sheggz allegedly made repeated promises to marry the reality star during their relationship. Her legal team reportedly claims that the alleged promises were made publicly and privately, including in the presence of family members and friends.
The lawyers further alleged that Bella relied on these assurances during their relationship and that Sheggz later failed to fulfil the alleged promise. The matter has now escalated beyond social media, with Bella’s team threatening further legal action over the alleged breach.
Perhaps the most serious aspect of the legal dispute is the allegation of domestic abuse. Bella’s lawyers reportedly accused Sheggz of subjecting her to physical and emotional abuse during their relationship.
The allegations reportedly include claims that Bella’s movement was restricted and that she suffered physical harm. Her legal team has indicated that further action could be taken before the appropriate authorities, including the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.

The legal battle reportedly involves money as well. Bella’s lawyers are said to be demanding repayment of alleged loans amounting to approximately £10,166 and N19.826 million.
Sheggz, however, has reportedly denied allegations of cheating and domestic abuse. His legal representatives have also reportedly presented their own financial claims, alleging that the former footballer spent approximately £220,000 from his personal funds during the relationship. The claims and counterclaims have transformed the former lovers’ breakup into a much bigger legal confrontation.
What remains unclear is how far the legal battle will go and whether both parties will eventually resolve their differences outside court.
