Chike Accuses Woman of Fraud on X Over Alleged 20,000 dollar Scam

Nigerian singer Chike took to X to accuse Chioma Nneoma Ochibili of fraud, claiming he lost 20,000 dollar and warning others about a business he says does not exist.

Nigerian singer Chike took to X (formerly Twitter) in the early hours of Monday, March 16, to publicly accuse a woman named Chioma Nneoma Ochibili of fraud. In a series of posts throughout the night, Chike claimed that what he believed to be a legitimate business deal turned out to be a scam. He says the scam cost him twenty thousand dollars and may have affected several other people.

The posts, which included a photo of the woman and her full name, quickly gained attention online, sparking debate about the alleged fraud.

How It Started

The posts began at 12:14 AM with a cryptic message: “Chioma Nneoma Ochibili? So you are a thief?” Chike wrote that she had told him she was running a business, but according to him, “her business is to survive on your money.”

He followed up by posting her picture with a similar caption, urging anyone who had given her money to ask for it back. He estimated the total amount lost across multiple people at fifty thousand dollars, describing his own share as twenty thousand dollars and admitting he should have spotted the scam earlier. About an hour later, he added, “OG will have a heart attack when he sees this in the morning,” a comment likely referring to others involved in the remaining amount.

What He Says Happened

After hours of speculation online, Chike clarified the situation. “Do not get distracted. The focus is not about the amount of money,” he wrote. “Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud.”

He also stated that his posts were not primarily about recovering the money, which he said he is handling through other means, but about warning others who might engage in business with her.

As of the time of writing, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has not made any public response to the allegations.
