Sowore Intervenes as Blord–VeryDarkMan Legal Dispute Intensifies
Blord and VeryDarkMan’s ongoing legal dispute has taken a new turn after Omoyele Sowore criticised the court-ordered detention and called for the case to be discontinued.
Social media has remained divided over the ongoing legal battle between crypto entrepreneur Blord and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), following reports of arraignment and a pending bail decision over fraud-related allegations.
Blord is facing multiple accusations, including forgery, impersonation, and unauthorized use of VeryDarkMan’s identity in promotional campaigns. The claims also involve alleged misleading advertisements and statements suggesting a 500 million naira endorsement deal with VDM.
Blord has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty. His bail request was reportedly delayed to allow the prosecution respond, meaning he could remain in custody for several weeks as proceedings continue.
Amid the controversy, Blord took to Instagram to criticise VeryDarkMan for pursuing legal action, despite earlier claims that their dispute would be settled outside the courts.
The situation has now drawn the attention of activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, who publicly reacted to the development.
“I have read about the court-ordered detention of an individual known as B-Lord, and I must say this clearly that no one should celebrate the incarceration of any person under the color of law,” Sowore stated.
He further revealed that he had contacted lawyer Marshal D. F. Abubakar, urging him to step away from the case, while stressing that imprisonment should not be seen as a victory.
“We must all agree that sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. Rather, it risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens,” he added.
Sowore also called for the case to be discontinued and for Blord’s release, arguing that justice should not be reduced to punishment alone.
The case has continued to generate strong reactions online, with Nigerians split between supporting legal accountability and questioning the broader implications of the detention.
