Albeit, TikTok has been pulling up for the big boys since inception. The social networking platform that is
officially now a significant part of music distribution has added immensely to the feasibility of many creators, and so
we ask: "Why should artists mine the riches embedded in this internet oil boom called TikTok?"
It's no brainer that this app has advanced the quick accessibility of new media and has successfully helped in filtering great content.
Here are some of the crucial points we coined from the viral-tinged platform:
1. For the app creators, it can always be an easy way to monetize their following without having to create a Sponsored post for a brand.
2. The industry's attention on TikTok isn't unfounded. Songs that trend on TikTok oftentimes end up charting on the billboard 100 of Spotify viral 50.
Ckay's Love Nwantinti is a good sample for this narrative. The stunning success of this single in 2020 was one of the biggest collisions of social media.
Recently, upcoming artists have learnt the art of kickstarting a challenge for their singles on the platform where participants are required to perform a simple dance step and just be creative with their presentation.
This has helped in the conversion to increase in streaming numbers for the Artists because, at least 67%, if not, 70% of the app users are more likely to seek out the songs on other streaming platforms after the first listening on TikTok.

In conclusion, with the multimedia functions available on this platform and the continual updates for users to create different characters, TikTok remains an important element for musicians, especially up-and-coming Artists to get across to so many users in a bid to create a buzz around their music.
