A Lagos resident, Osarobo Odigie, has taken steps to sue TikTok influencer Peller over an incident that reportedly happened at a lounge in Lagos. She is accusing him of defamation, online harassment, and invasion of privacy, and is demanding three hundred and ninety-five million naira in damages, along with a public apology.
According to the complaint, the incident happened in the early hours of January, 6 2026. Ms Odigie said she was at the lounge buying food and waiting at the cashier when the situation occurred. What started as a normal visit later turned into a confrontation.
In a pre-action letter dated March10 2026, her lawyers, Odu Legal representing FA Garrick and Co, accused the influencer of insulting their client during a dispute at Folixxx Lounge. They also claimed he recorded the incident without her permission, raising concerns about privacy and defamation.
The legal team explained that Ms Odigie moved away from the influencer because of loud noise, but was later approached and questioned about her actions. They alleged that when she politely asked him to behave properly in a public space, he reacted aggressively and insulted her.
According to the lawyers, the insults included Yoruba words such as “Oloriburuku,” “Omo Ale,” and “Ashawo,” which they described as offensive and damaging to her reputation.
Ms Odigie is asking for three hundred and ninety five million naira in total damages. This includes two hundred million naira for defamation, one hundred million naira for emotional distress and reputational harm, seventy five million naira for distress linked to online harassment and threats, and twenty million naira for legal expenses.
Her legal team also asked the influencer to remove the video from all platforms and issue a public apology on his social media pages as well as in national newspapers. They stated that if these demands are not met within seven days, further legal action will be taken.
