Crayon Sparks Controversy With Social Media Posts Targeting Mavin Records

Nigerian singer Crayon, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, has sparked widespread reactions online after posting a series of emotional messages on X, formerly known as Twitter, directed at key figures within Mavin Records.

In the posts, the 28-year-old artist mentioned names such as Don Jazzy, the label’s founder, Tega Oghenejobo, and fellow artist Rema, expressing a mix of frustration and strong emotions. Some of the tweets included direct criticism, while others appeared unclear, blending praise with anger.

Crayon, who joined Mavin’s system through Blowtime Entertainment in 2019, has been part of the label’s structure for several years. However, recent developments have raised questions about his current position. Fans noticed that his latest release did not receive the usual level of promotion associated with Mavin artists, leading to speculation about a possible shift in his career.

The situation gained more attention after he released a new single titled “Baami” under a different platform, Olodum Ent, instead of Mavin Records. This move has fueled discussions about whether the singer is moving toward independence or distancing himself from the label.

In addition, Crayon used his platform to call for creative contributions for his new outfit, offering a large cash reward for ideas related to the brand.
