Adunni Ade Takes Instablog to Court as Judge Orders Anonymous Respondent to Reveal Identity

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has taken her battle with popular Instagram gossip platform Instablog9ja to court, with a High Court of Ogun State ordering the anonymous respondent behind the account to reveal their identity.

The development is contained in a court document from the High Court of Ogun State, Isheri/Ojodu Abiodun Judicial Division, in a suit filed by Adunni Adewale. The suit lists Adunni Adewale as the applicant, while the respondent is identified as an “Unknown Person” trading under the name and style of @instablog9ja on Instagram.

The case came before Justice A. A. Babawale on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. According to the court record, both parties were absent, but lawyers representing the applicant and respondent were present.

Following the development, the court ordered that the respondent’s response should already indicate the name of the respondent. This means the anonymous individual currently behind the instablog9ja identity is now facing a legal process in which their actual identity is expected to be disclosed to the court.

The matter has subsequently been adjourned to August 31, 2026, for mention.

The development marks a major escalation in Adunni Ade’s dispute with Instablog. Rather than continuing the battle solely on social media, the actress has now taken the matter before the court, with the identity of the person operating or legally responsible for the disputed account becoming a central issue in the proceedings.

The court document does not, however, mean that the identity has already been publicly disclosed. The respondent is still described as an unknown person, while the legal process to establish and reveal that identity is ongoing. All eyes are now on August 31, when the matter is expected to come up for mention again.
