Family Demands Justice After Their Son Was Allegedly Shot Dead by Police Officers in Port Harcourt

The family of a young man identified as Anthony is demanding justice after he was allegedly shot dead by police officers along Agip by Ada-George Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in an incident that has sparked outrage and renewed calls for police reform.

Family Demands Justice After Their Son Was Allegedly Shot Dead by Police Officers in Port Harcourt

According to his sister, Anthony was driving a Lexus on Friday, August 29, when he was allegedly chased by police officers before being shot.

She claimed that he was still breathing after the shooting, but the officers allegedly pulled him out of the vehicle, removed his gold chain and rings, abandoned him on the road in the rain and drove away in his car.

The incident has left the family devastated and demanding answers, as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of their loved one in such a brutal manner.

Anthony was reportedly later discovered on the road by a passerby, who rushed him to a hospital. However, he was said to have died from his injuries.

The family has called on the Rivers State Police Command to investigate the incident and bring the officers involved to justice.

They have also appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation, as they seek justice for their son.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many Nigerians expressing outrage over the alleged killing.

The case has also reignited calls for police reform and accountability, as incidents of police brutality continue to plague the country.

The family's demand for justice has resonated with many who are tired of the culture of impunity that has long been associated with law enforcement in Nigeria.

As the investigation continues, the family remains hopeful that the officers responsible will be held accountable.

However, they are also aware that justice in such cases is often elusive, and they are determined to keep the pressure on the authorities to ensure that their son's death is not swept under the carpet.

The case has once again highlighted the urgent need for police reform and the importance of holding officers accountable for their actions.
