"Please, Don't Let Me Die" – Veteran Actress Ngozi Nwosu Pleads for Help as She Battles Undisclosed Illness
The 62-year-old actress, best known for her iconic role as Peaceful Peace in the popular sitcom "Fuji House of Commotion," shared a heartbreaking video on her Instagram page on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
In the video, Nwosu appeared visibly emotional and in visible pain as she explained why she had been absent from the public eye in recent weeks.
"My people, my fans and my family, I know that you've not seen me in circulation for some time. I've been hospitalized now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help, don't let me die," she pleaded.
The veteran actress disclosed that she is enduring severe pain and has three surgeries ahead of her, with the total cost of the procedures estimated at N30 million.
While she did not disclose the exact nature of her illness, her condition has clearly deteriorated to a point where she can no longer manage without outside assistance.
In her emotional plea, she begged fans, friends, family members, and well-wishers not to abandon her during this difficult period, stating, "I know that you people never forsake me and I know that God will always see me through, but I'm begging you, my friends and family, don't let me die because I am going through a lot as in pain".
This is not the first time Ngozi Nwosu has faced a serious health battle. In 2012, she suffered from kidney and heart-related complications that temporarily halted her acting career.
At that time, she received financial assistance from the Lagos State Government and donations from well-meaning Nigerians, including a N4.5 million lifeline from the state government.
The support enabled her to travel to the United Kingdom for treatment, and she successfully recovered . Now, more than a decade later, she finds herself in a similar predicament and is once again turning to the public for help.
In her post, Nwosu described asking for help as one of the hardest decisions she has ever had to make, but she insisted that the urgency of her condition left her with no other choice.
"My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can't keep quiet anymore. I urgently need life-saving surgeries. Please don't scroll past. Share this post and support me if you can," she wrote . She also urged anyone willing to assist to get in touch with her legal representative or management team.
The actress concluded her appeal with a prayer, saying, "My sickness will never be anybody's portion. In Jesus' name, thank you".
Her plea has already drawn sympathy from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry, with many calling for support to help her raise the N30 million needed for the surgeries.
As the veteran actress continues her battle, her heartfelt cry serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by aging actors in the industry, many of whom struggle with health issues without adequate financial safety nets.
