The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken decisive action following the 2026 mock UTME by delisting 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country.
This decision comes after widespread technical difficulties were experienced during the mock examination, a crucial test run designed not just for candidates but also for the centres themselves. From system crashes to delayed start times and poor infrastructure, several centres simply couldn’t meet the standard required to host the exam.
Alongside the 23 centres that have now been removed from the system, dozens of others have reportedly been placed on notice, with strict instructions to upgrade their facilities or risk facing the same fate.
In fact, one centre in Lagos has allegedly been blacklisted completely, meaning it may never host a JAMB exam again. JAMB is expected to reassign candidates to alternative approved centres, ensuring that no student is left stranded ahead of the main UTME.
