“I Cannot Take Care of Another Man’s Children” - Portable Demands DNA Tests for Ashabi’s Kids

Nigerian singer Portable has sparked another controversy involving his estranged partner, actress Ashabi Simple, after demanding DNA tests for their two children before he continues taking responsibility for their upkeep.

The singer made the demand amid a fresh disagreement with Ashabi over the welfare and financial support of their children. In a post on Instagram, Portable said he wanted the paternity of the children established, claiming that he does not trust their mother.

“Now I need DNA test asap so I can take care of those kids because I do not trust their mother. I cannot take care of another man child.”

In a voice note circulating online, Portable reportedly questioned Ashabi’s movements during their relationship, claiming that she sometimes stayed away from home for days because of movie shoots. He also dismissed the children’s resemblance to him as proof of paternity, saying they could look like him because he and Ashabi were living together.

The singer’s demand came after Ashabi accused him of failing to provide adequate financial support for their children. According to Ashabi, Portable gave N200,000 for the two children between January and September, while she claimed to have handled their school fees for three terms, feeding and clothing.

“January to September u gave 2kids 200k. Have paid for 3 term school fees for them each. Have been feeding them all alone and clothing them,” she wrote.

Ashabi also reportedly shared a conversation in which Portable told her to either give him the children or take care of them herself. She accused him of refusing to be accountable for their welfare, saying she had given him enough time to take responsibility.

The drama escalated further when Ashabi responded to an apparent allegation involving charms, writing that she had no reason to use charms on Portable. She also reportedly suggested that they put their differences aside for the sake of their children, but Portable rejected the idea, allegedly telling her: “You are my enemy for life.”

Portable also made remarks about Ashabi’s personal life and alleged health issues, including comments concerning fibroids. The latest exchange has once again put the former couple’s relationship under intense scrutiny, with both sides publicly airing their grievances over their children’s welfare. For now, no DNA test result has been publicly reported, and the paternity concerns remain an allegation raised by Portable rather than an established finding.
