Nigerians to Enjoy Reduced Transport Fares From October 1 – President Tinubu

Nigerian singer Timaya has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to vote wisely in the upcoming elections, warning that another four years of bad leadership would be catastrophic for the country.

The singer, whose real name is Inetimi Timaya Odon, made the remarks during an appearance on Wazobia FM, where he urged Nigerians not to allow immediate personal needs to influence their decisions at the polls.

"Nobody is advising anybody. If what you want to eat today is what you are looking for to put in your pocket, that is your business. It is not just one day; it is another four years of hardship.

If you know what is good, you have to vote right," he said. His words reflect a deep frustration with the state of the nation and a desire to see Nigerians make choices that will lead to genuine change.

Timaya also directed his criticism at politicians who, according to him, base their lives abroad while claiming to serve Nigerians.

He questioned whether their circumstances affect how they think about the country and whether they can truly understand the struggles of ordinary citizens.

"You cannot be living abroad while working in Nigeria and expect to understand what Nigerians are going through," he said, suggesting that such leaders are disconnected from the realities facing the people they claim to represent.

The singer's comments have resonated with many Nigerians who share his frustrations with the political class and the persistent hardship facing the country.

His willingness to speak out on political issues has earned him praise from fans who appreciate his honesty, even as some have questioned whether musicians should involve themselves in politics.

Timaya has consistently used his platform to address social issues, and his latest remarks are consistent with his reputation for being outspoken.

Timaya also took the opportunity to encourage Nigerians to look beyond ethnic and religious considerations when choosing their leaders.

He argued that the challenges facing the country are not limited to any particular region or group and that Nigerians must unite to demand better governance.

His message is one of collective responsibility and the need for citizens to hold their leaders accountable.

The singer's plea comes as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general election, with many citizens expressing frustration with the current state of affairs.

Timaya's words serve as a reminder that the power to change the country lies in the hands of the people, and that their choices at the polls will determine the future of the nation.
